Last night James was playing around with his binky and all of the sudden he started crying saying "I broke it, I broke it". I knew what had just happened. Yes, he bit off the top of his binky. Oh so sad! I told him to go show his dad because I didn't know what to do. I have been telling myself that as soon as the baby comes then I would take it away. Brandon wasn't on the same page last night. He told him to go put it in the trash. As you can image my little 2 year old didn't like that answer. It took him probably an hour of carrying the broken binky around crying hard to finally get him to give it up and put it in the trash. He wouldn't let me take it to the trash with him. It had to be daddy.
It was pretty sad the rest of the evening but, we made it through it. He even slept all night. When he woke up this morning he didn't even ask for it. I think by him having to throw it in the trash himself really made him realize that he is a big boy now and we are done with the binky. Hopefully we can continue with the good progress of no binky. I hope he doesn't have one stashed away somewhere. I think I better do a search of the house very soon. :)
Sorry no picture of the broken binky. I don't really want to dig through the trash.

Oh, what a sad story. And what a big boy. That would be awesome if he is really done with it, but it is James and he is really good about things. Like starting to potty train himself and so forth. Thanks for letting me come stay with you the other day. I sure love and look up to you guys! It was great to be with you.
Oh no! Poor little James. I'm so proud of him for working through it. Hang in there little guy. Grandma loves you the most.
What a big boy!! Hopefully he won't steal the babies binky when he comes. :)
Shada was so attached to her paci. She would only take the ones from the hospital, so I was always scared to loose them. Anyway, when she was getting her first teeth in she stopped nursing and taking her paci and would only drink from a cup, so we hid her paci and I had to retrain her to nurse. But, I only miss the paci at nights when all she wants to do is nurse! Hopefully James forgets about it soon. Good luck.
That's so sad! Neither of my kids are really took pacifiers. Which can be a great and painful for me at the same time. Hope everything is going well for you..you are almost to the finish line with baby #3- that's crazy how fast time goes by. Cute school pictures:).
