One very sad 2 year old

Last night James was playing around with his binky and all of the sudden he started crying saying "I broke it, I broke it". I knew what had just happened. Yes, he bit off the top of his binky. Oh so sad! I told him to go show his dad because I didn't know what to do. I have been telling myself that as soon as the baby comes then I would take it away. Brandon wasn't on the same page last night. He told him to go put it in the trash. As you can image my little 2 year old didn't like that answer. It took him probably an hour of carrying the broken binky around crying hard to finally get him to give it up and put it in the trash. He wouldn't let me take it to the trash with him. It had to be daddy.
It was pretty sad the rest of the evening but, we made it through it. He even slept all night. When he woke up this morning he didn't even ask for it. I think by him having to throw it in the trash himself really made him realize that he is a big boy now and we are done with the binky. Hopefully we can continue with the good progress of no binky. I hope he doesn't have one stashed away somewhere. I think I better do a search of the house very soon. :)

Sorry no picture of the broken binky. I don't really want to dig through the trash.

kids school pictures

Dantzel had preschool pictures taken last month and I asked if she could take a few of James so the back drop would match. They turned out okay I guess. Here is the final product. What do you think???

my cute pirates

Dantzel and James thought it was really fun to put this material on their heads and act like pirates. They even got mommy and daddy to join in on the fun. Good thing I was the photographer. No pictures of me this time.

Dantzel's Muffin and Mom day at Preschool

I forgot my camera so that is why the quality is not the best. SORRY!

I was so proud of Dantzel! She was the loudest singer and remembered all the words. I think all the others kids were being shy. Mrs. Christy does an amazing job with these kids. I know that my little Dantzel thinks the world of her Preschool teacher. Thanks for all that you do Mrs. Chrsity!

I had a video for this cute little seed but for some reason it's not working. I think Dantzel was the only seed that grew. It was so cute.

Prom and the Hair do's

Don't you just LOVE the stop sign. Oops! The moon was beautiful though. :)

My baby sister when to her Jr. Prom. She is so funny and asked me to do her hair along with her friends. I think they both looked fabulous but, that is because I did their hair. Here are just a few photos of the evening.
SHELBY's finished hair

Victoria, John's sister even played them some pretty Viola music during dinner. My mom is amazing!!! She made Erin's dress without a pattern. Way to go Mom! :)
Silly Picture
This is where you can see the back of her hair.

My baby is now 2

James had his BIRTHDAY yesterday. He is now 2! He still wants to be 1. When we talk about it this morning he even starts crying because he thinks he is 1 and not 2. Silly kid.
He got a new bike for his birthday and he has already caught on to how the peddles work. Watch out Dantzel, he will soon be taking over your BIG bike. I have bets with Brandon that he will learn how to ride a bike w/out training wheel before Dantzel. He is so coordinated! It's so fun to watch him grow and play.
Some of the things he likes doing now are:

  • Jump on the trampoline
  • play outside
  • dance with his sister
  • swim (thank goodness it is getting to be summer time)
  • watch the cows in the field
  • jump off the couch and land on his feet
  • watch Sponge Bob
  • Go to Grandma Bug-A-Boo's house (it is a fight to go home, and when she comes to visit us he thinks he is going to sneak into her car for a sleep over)
  • still likes to snuggle with mom and dad (I hope this never stops!)
I could go on and on. I will keep it short.
As you can see I am not a cake decorator or maker. I have made my mind up after this party that I will be buying cakes from now on. How embarrassing to even post a picture of this horrible cake. All I had on my mind when I was making it was, WHERE IS DALLAS AND TIM??? It didn't help that there was a show on TV "the last cake standing". Of course I had to watch it before I even started. Very BAD idea. Oh well. James got his wish with the PINK cake with SPRINKLES. Silly boy. One day he will hate me for actually doing what he demanded. HA HA

I forgot to add my cute little story about James being big now. On Saturday Dantzel and James were taking a bath. He got out and closed the bathroom door. I wondered what he was planning on getting into (usually Dantzel's bows). I went and opened the door and he was on the toilet almost doing the splits peeing. It was so cute. He sat there for about 5 minutes. Every time I would ask him if he was done, he would pee a little bit more. Crazy! Now whenever we put him on the toilet he will go. I am still waiting for him to ask me to take him. I am also still waiting for him to go poop! Maybe it will be easier potty training him than it was Dantzel. That is what I am hoping for anyway. I just keep telling myself he is only 2. I still have a long time until I should expect him to be potty trained. :)

Proud moment

So I finally made the bow holder I have been meaning to make for a long time. My only problem is, it is too small. I guess I have gone a little overboard with making and buying bows for my daughter. oops! Here is the finished product.
